5 Tips for Choosing a Wedding Photo Booth

A photo booth is one of the most popular attractions at weddings. Guests love it, brides get beautiful memories, and the wedding album is enriched with spontaneous moments. But how to choose the right one? Here are 5 practical tips from our experience with hundreds of weddings.
1. Choose the Type Based on Your Wedding Atmosphere
For a classic elegant wedding, we recommend a photo booth with printing – guests take home a physical photo as a souvenir. For a modern wedding with a younger audience, go for a 360° video booth or AI photo booth. The magic mirror is suited for balls and gala dinners; at intimate weddings, it can feel too technical.
2. Place It Correctly
The ideal spot is near the dance floor or bar – that's where guests naturally gather. Avoid placing it right at the entrance (guests are still arriving) or in a separate room (nobody will go there). The photo booth should be visible but shouldn't block movement.
3. Invest in Quality Props
Props make up 50% of the fun. Instead of cheap plastic glasses, choose themed props – flower wreaths, wedding signs with funny messages, elegant hats. At Gala Events, we include a set of wedding props in the rental price. For an extra effect, order personalized props with your names.
4. Plan the Right Timing
Activate the photo booth after the ceremony and main meal – ideally from the first dance onwards. That's the moment when guests loosen up and are in the mood for fun. We recommend at least 3 hours of operation. For larger weddings (100+ guests), count on 4 hours so everyone has time for a photo.
5. Check What's Included in the Price
Before ordering, always ask: is transport included? Operator? Printing? At Gala Events, every photo booth rental includes as standard: transport, professional operator, unlimited photos, online gallery and a set of props. We have no hidden fees – you approve the final price upfront.
